The CATALYST project has been launched!
Here we are! The 8 project partners gathered in Nice (France) from October 21 to October 22, to officially launch the CATALYST project.
Roger Torrenti and Marta Arniani from Sigma Orionis friendly welcomed the participants and moderated the discussions that allowed, all along the two days, to carefully reviewing the work to be done in the next two years and agree on a detailed work plan for the coming months. Moreover, all partners also confirmed their determination to fully contribute to the success of the Collective Awareness Platforms for Sustainability and Social Innovation (CAPS) initiative, in the context of which their project has been launched.
CATALYST will undertake methodological and technological developments aiming at improving knowledge creation through groundbreaking functionalities, to mobilize Collective Intelligence for the public good and to translate awareness into behavioral change. In other terms, the project will address the limitations of existing Collective Intelligence Technology by developing collective intelligence methods and solutions to enable qualitatively more effective large-scale sensemaking and ideation capabilities for complex and controversial problems, and support subsequent actions.
The project is coordinated by Sigma Orionis, which has a longstanding experience in the management of EU-funded projects and in Outreach activities. CATALYST will benefit from the expertise of 5 highly experienced community-partners (Imagination for People, Wikitalia, CSCP, Purpose and Euclid Network) and 2 leading academic partners (Open University, University of Zurich).
Since real issues need real feedback, partners will rely on their extensive networks to test the next generation solutions to be developed, in authentic, real world settings. If you want to be part of this great adventure, stay tuned: more information will soon be available!
